The final term of Grade 11 is the beginning of your child’s Matric year. As the Matric Class of 2018 begins writing the final exams, so we focus on the Class of 2019 and begin preparing them for Matric. For this reason, you are invited to a Parents’ meeting to be held on Tuesday 30 October at 16:00 in the Kitsong Hall.
It is essential that all students attend as well as as many parents as possible. Subject teachers will address portfolios, practical exams, oral moderation, PATs and CATs. It will be an opportunity to explain the Independent Examination Board (IEB) and the level of commitment that is necessary if your child is to be successful in their final year at school.
We will explain the application process for tertiary institutions briefly as well as the Admission Points Score (APS) to help you make informed decisions about your child’s future.
The aim of the meeting is to discuss Matric in general and not to discuss individual students or have private meetings with teachers. You are welcome to phone and arrange a time to meet teachers during the term to discuss your concerns individually.
